Perhaps you missed the part within that hour where America gained a new leader... a rather substantial change for this country and the world. |
Except it was a downgrade in ideology. |

Ah, I get it now... still, it was pretty dreadful and smelt a bit like "lets get a black singer up here..."
OK, I get it, Barack is black, lets get over it now. |

Ya know, I dont like Obama either. But just let the people who do like him enjoy the day and have a nice conversation instead of throwing in your little comments in an attempt to start an argument. |

Aretha Franklin's primary claim to fame is certainly not that she's black. |

That's not what happened! What happened was that Obama was supposed to repeat what the Justice said, but the Justice got it wrong. It wasn't that Obama couldn't remember, it was that he knew the Justice was giving him the incorrect phrasing.

i watched it here at school and we all saw him mess up. some of us thought is was funny but others thought that he (obama) was just nervous and so he was off the hook for that. i get it now that i read more your guys' comments. still.

You shouldn't say such things while you still have your big purple mustache. |

Justice Roberts said "I will execute the office of president to the United States faithfully" rather than the prescribed Constitutional line "I will faithfully execute the office of President of the United States." That's why Obama stopped... |

Stupidity corrected.
Look, it's considered bad form to edit someone's post in a quote... but then when they reply and humourously correct your correction AND YOU DELETE IT, then you've really crossed the line.
what a goob.

That's exactly what I thought, too. Obama had the thing memorized, and knew that Chief Justice messed it up, so paused when he realized what he was saying. |

What a stupid statement. I can see this will be one of those threads where some won't be able to control the idiot box mounted on their shoulders. They will just blurt out whatever crosses that blob inside their skull. I figure if you don't have anything intelligent to say on the matter, no matter what your opinion might be, you should probably just log off and go for a walk on the nearest Freeway or at minimum set the thread to ignore like I'm doin' now.

at least bush II is headed back to texas for good. too bad we have to pay for his security until he's really gone... of course he's proven without a doubt he couldn't defend himself if a quail jumped out of the bushes...

Yep, the pro-Obama folks cannot keep their "Idiot box" turned off as you put it. Case in point:

Suffice it to say please remain civil to one and other.
Maybe time to go out and take some pictures. |

...what happened?
What happened is that we now have a president who can at the very least speak intelligently and inspirationally. That alone is a "one giant leap for mankind", comparing to his predecessor at least.
As for the slip up in the oath relax people. Roberts got it wrong and Obama caught the mistake which threw him off for a second. Roberts â€Â¦.. hmm â€Â¦ wasn’t the word change in ideology brought up in this thread â€Â¦ we can only hope.

I thought Clinton was the last one to get full security until death. |

No no no, Quayle was Daddy's VP.
Cheney is much more dangerous, especially if you turn your back on him while hunting. |

And there was already some change. They said that the new president never saw the former president off in the helicopter (change!). The route of the helicopter flying the former president off also CHANGED the normal course and flew over the North Lawn before heading to Edwards...
haha...the change has begun!!!! |
Perhaps I was mistaken by what I saw, but I am sure that not only did the new president see the departure of the old vice president Cheney, but also waved to the departing magic flying Bush!! |
