Hi!

I am hoping to get some feedback on this photo that I took last night.

I resized it (for ease of uploading) and played around with the levels, curves and a little with the saturation, I don't believe I did anything else (I was editing a number of photos so I can't be sure).

Any thoughts or ideas on ways to improve the photo on either the editing or the actual set-up are very much welcome. :)

Thanks!

Nice shot Lucid! The background is great. The only problem with it is that it may draw attention away from the gourds. Immediately my eyes are drawn to the flamboyant pattern of the background and not the gourds. I think the gourds are an excellent subject to photograph, but perhaps this composition doesn't accent there interesting features well. For one, their color isn't special, so I would attempt something in B&W, that would draw more attention to there shape and texture, instead of their color. Number two, I would try to look at them in a way that accents there curves and unusual shape. Something with a simple black or white background, using shadows would work very well.

Of course all this is just IMHO!

The lighting looks good, but you may want to reflect it off something, that would reduce the glare, which is especially harsh on the top one!

P.S. - Despite what I said above, I really like the idea of using the gourds, they are a very interesting subject!

Thank you both for your responses. I did try one desaturating everything but the gourds and some of the beads which does bring the gourds more into the forefront.

I don't like it completely b&w though because I look at it and miss the colors.

Thanks again, your comments have been very helpful.
