This shoot is open to Open House attendees for a $20 shooting fee, proceeds to be split between the models, Lisa, and Adam, to cover their costs of setting up the shoot. Full details are in this post in the studio's forums, and on the Open House web site." |
This is if you want to shoot on the set with the body painted models. Otherwise there may be casual shooting, I might even set something up out back for people to shoot, but not sure yet on that one.
The way I feel about it personally is that $20 bones is nominal verse what you get, because the lighting by Adam is always tight and clean and I can not say enough about Lisa's body painting work. If you have doubts just look at her credits.
Anyway, that is optional and you don't need to pay $20 bones to be there. It still will be a great opportunity to hang out, watch, meet people and stuff.

Unfortunately, I cannot make it to the Gremlin Studios if there is a fee. I am unemployed, and $20 is two weeks of lunches for me! I'm going to have to cancel... :(
I totally understand them charging, but it definitely puts me out of attendance. |

There is no fee
let me repeat....
There is no fee
Now, if you want to shoot the body painted models on the set, there is a fee. BUT THERE IS NO FEE TO ATTEND!!!

What I was looking forward to was shooting in the studio with the big lights and pocket wizards. Can we do that for free, or is that reserved for the models and $20? That's really the reason I wanted to go, to practice studio work with wizards. Hmmm. |

I do not know for sure if there is going to be a second setup. There may or may not be a second one. No one really knows that stuff until the last minute.
There is the 20$ fee for the main setup, the stage/lights/bodypainted models. That is extremely nominal to pay for that experience and what you get from it. But, if thats the deal breaker, its sad you cannot even make it just to hang out, meet people, and watch/learn.

I had a great time last time, but what I enjoyed the most was actually using and testing the pocket wizards! I'm not someone who can learn by watching... I learn by doing. I've been like that my entire life! I would still have fun photographing stuff in the other room, but I could do that without the long drive. It would be great to see you again though!
As of right now, I don't have a ride. I will still consider it if I get a ride, but otherwise, I need to stick to the Glendale/Burbank area. I have no job, no income, no gas $ right now... |

Sorry Arie for the late notice and cancellation... I had forgotten the 23rd is our wedding anniversary, and I think my wife might have a little issue with me taking the night to go out with friends LOL!

Sorry I couldn't make it. I can't afford to leave the house this week... trouble with my unemployment check (it didn't arrive yet). Bah! I hope to get it soon. Hope to go out next weekend! |

To bad you couldn't make it, it turned out to be wicked fun. I did end up setting up some lights in the other studio for people to use and stuff.
