IMHO, On page 15, â1. Your Budgetâ, should be non-monetary unit specific if you want to sell copies in other countries then just India. I have no concept of âlacsâ.or âRs. 5000â???

ADDED:
on page 31 "Exposure Bracketing", spelling error, "ticky" should be "tricky".
Run a MS-Word spell checker, then have a Human check for the correct word used. Spell checkers will not tell you if the right word is used.

Don't friends usually thank one another for their input and feedback?

I didn't see any of that when he was trolling for material.

Yes. Thank you for my attention on this. I will correct it to include $. Incidently, I$ is approx. Rs. 50. Rupees 1 lac = Rs. 1,00,000 (or $2000). I shall also take care with spell check as advised. Thanks again.

Then how do you share your work? Are you not using dpc as a sharing platform?

In this case, anyone can download the book for free, and the suggestions are welcome.

Yes, I did send them thanks in my PM. Although, I haven't used any photographs as yet, other than my own.

Perhaps the way the post comes across to me, and apparently Simms is wrong. But to me it sounds as though you are boasting about being published as if its some great accomplishment. Not that writing 100 pages of whatever isnt an accomplishment, but having anything published certainly isnt.

Do I use DPC to share my work? Do I post my work here? Sure I do. I'm pretty sure that is why the site exists is to share photographs and share in the fun of the challenges. But is it to sell books? Perhaps if it were in the Buy/Sell section of the site, but not in the tips, tricks, and Q&A section.

Another example that no matter what someone does on DPC, there is always going to be a certain percentage that are positive, a percentage that will see something negative in it, a large number of silent unknowns and a few of us that aren't surprised at all.

So Kbhatia gleaned some infomration off of DPC and wrote a book that he wants to share. I wonder how many people have taken the knowelege of others on DPC and turned it into a money making photography business... and not thanked anyone for it? I'm sure there have been hundreds if not more, over the years that have made out very well from DPC. Many have given back, but I'm sure many haven't. How many on here have a little statement under their pictures that say "Buy prints here"? This is all life on the internet.

Congratulations on your book, Kbhatia. If it wasn't for self publishing, a lot of authors would never have been read by others.

Mike

Sorry Mike, next time I'll be sure and adhere to the forum rule of ego stroking rather then having my own opinion.

I think if you go back through the forums throughout time eternal at dpc, khbatia has shared several of his works with us. This is, by far, not his first, and probably not his last.

No harm. No foul.

That's right. I would also like to have your comments on the contents of the book, ...if you find time. Thanks.

And yes, if you want to know my 'all time money-making history' : 144 free downloads and 5 paid downloads, total revenue: $6.20.
LOL. This is certainly not a money making business.

Actually a lac is 100,000 - not a million. (I am American born of Italian ancestors but have studied Classical North Indiuan music (sitar, surbahar and rudra vin - Vishnipur Gharana) since 1973, which has exposed me to much of the Indian culture.

Congratulaitons on the effort you put it.

Oh - on the PDF at least on quick viewing - in the Table Of Contents the point size of Section 2:12 (Hopw To Get Sharp Pictures) is smaller than the rest.

Yes, some here may praise and some here may damn and some here may be silent. At least you devoted the time and energy to this. I have been damned more than once by some who sem to enjoy the needle and it was neither fun nor warranted. Regardless, I also suggest you get some kind of DONATE gong for the free download (which I just did).
