I know it's simple...but I can't figure out how to use the bracketing feature of my camera. I've had the camera for over a year and I still don't know how to do it. When i set the bracketing do i keep pushing the shutter...does it do it by itself...do i have to be in multiple shooting mode...or do i have to manual bracket the photo (expose it right...change the exposure setting to underexpose...change it to over expose...). Someone help me to make using HDR just a little bit easier.

I'm not a canon user, but on my D80 you have to take 3 separate shots when it's on a three shot bracketing mode. The LCD screen indicates whether you are on shot 1, 2, or 3.

Page 90 of the manual :)

and yeah, you gotta press the shutter button 3x to get the bracket but it will change the settings automatically :)

Page 90 in your manual tells you how to do it. If you do it correctly one shutter actuation will take the three exposures for you. AEB (Auto Exposure Bracketing) has to be set from the menu. If you don't have your manual, go here and download a PDF version of the manual.

Good luck,

R.

Hah, TC beat me to it. And now that I explore more closely, she's right: if you want all 3 automatically you need to set the shutter to continuous mode. Sorry.

And make it easy on yourself and use the timer & tripod if possible to avoid camera shake.

Ahh...thank you guys. Now lets hope my model can stay still for three shots.
