Hi guys, really need some help on this - I've updated the codec from the Nikon site but still no joy. It doesn't seem to recognise them as image files. I get a little preview in bridge, but not large ones like on the D40x. I can still open the d40x NEF files in Camera Raw - but the D90 ones aren't recognised file types!!
I just did a shoot for the restaurant I work at and need these shots submitted tonight, but I can't f*%£ing open them.
I'm going to be letting a lot of people down if these don't come out. Help!
J

what program are you using?
I had to use the Nikon software (whereas I was using PhotoElements)when I got my D90 in September....JUST recently Adobe updated their files and I can use PE6 again.

| I'm using Photoshop and Bridge CS4, would have thought it was updated already, but maybe not. |

| I'm running Camera Raw 5.0 - does that not support the D90? |

According to Adobe, Camera Raw 5.0 supports the D90, as does LR 2.0...

Camera Raw 5.2 update
November 25, 2008
This new version of the Camera Raw plug-in replaces the original one that was installed with Adobe® Photoshop® CS4; Adobe Photoshop Elements 7.0; and Adobe Premiere® Elements 7.0 software. Visit the Camera Raw page for a complete list of supported cameras.
ADOBE UPDATES
I think this is what you need

Well i've tried updating to ACR 5.2 but it's still only opening the D40x files - and it's still calling itself 5.0(?!).
I'm getting the DNG converter now then I'll try a restart. I did fortunately shoot in RAW + Basic .jpg, but I'm submitting for a magazine - don't want to have to submit low quality shots... |

DNG is going to do what you need.

Yep that's worked. Still bizarre, unless this is some cunning Adobe Scheme to get you use DNG all the time. I want to edit NEFs not DNGs, it's just a completely unnecessary extra step in my workflow. |
