I need a video card for a computer so I can use it. I ordered it from Newegg at christmas eve knowing it won't ship for a couple of days. Fine.

I get an email from them last friday that it shipped, 3 day select, from california. Cool, I should see it Tuesday.
I check today and it says its' 'on time' for a friday delvery.

Excuuse me? If it shipped TODAY it should be here before friday!

I had an overnight package for a customer due to me show up in two days, not one.

I expect this level of non-service from Fedex.

Big Brown, your letting me down!

Probably UPS. I've had packages show the 'on time' delivery for Friday, and the package is sitting in the Denver warehouse on Tuesday, but they won't deliver until Friday.

oh, I've never had a bad UPS experience ... if it says 'on time delivery' on the tracking page, it shows up that day!

Yea, I've never had anything but good from UPS. I ordered a backpack from B&H and needed it the next day. My UPS guy actually delivered it earlier in the route than normal.

Hopefully, if it says "on time" you will get it earlier.

Newegg was shipping from Cali? I thought they were shipped from NJ. Last time I ordered from there, I had the 3 day shipping, it came overnight.

Get the tracking number from NewEgg and plug it in. It will tell you where the package is once it has actually left the warehouse. UPS scans it once it's actually picked up.

That whole slated for delivery thing is mud 'til the package is scanned at pickup.

It doesn't exist with UPS 'til the pickup scan. Though yoyu can make all the arrangements electronically at the point of origin, that's just generating paperwork.

DON'T ask me how I know all this......suffice it to say that I have not had solely satisfactory experiences with the little brown truck.

Happy New Year Prof. One possibility is that Newegg screwed up and used a different (slower) UPS delivery. Fro the timeleline it sounds more like Ground shipping. Give UPS a call with the tracking number and see if they can determine the kind of shipping Newegg used.

UPS's online tracking says it was shipped 3 day select and picked up (origin scan) of 12/26. Expected deliver is 1/5.
That works out to be 10 calendar days. Now I know UPS probably discounts weekends and holidays, but what is their definition of a holiday? Jan 1, sure. But apparently 12/31 as well. I think they're working tomorrow as I have packages scheduled to arrive then.
If you don't count holdidays, weekends, stretch the definiiton of holiday, don't count the pickup day or deliver day, then yeah, it's only taking 3 days.

That's like government math, right?

That is royally screwed up. I have two lenses (Sigma 10-20 and 150-500 - woot!) coming to me that were shipped from New York by UPS Ground on 12/30 with a delivery date of 1/8.
