This was half an hour ago. My Christmas card view isn't quite so nice right now!

They can't decide on our forecast; pretty much either rain, snow, or both for the next week or so, at the moment.

our forecast is for cold air and blowing snow all night. Santa will need an extra pair of long underwear tonight. lol

I went swimming today. It was 80 degrees here in Daytona Beach, Florida, and the water was a pleasant 86.

So sorry for all of you with the snow....

If you hadn't added that last line, I'd probably be wishing you a Christmas case of swimmer's itch ;)

It was 74 and sunny here today. More of the same expected tomorrow. Might get chilly on the weekend, though.

Well I must admit my brain can twist words around as I am reading them - it's my brain's idea of a practical joke. Makes reading more interesting though. :D

I am not the happiest camper in the cabin tonight, though at least I didn't pull a total Juliet.

We finished dinner and son turns on the kitchen tap then asks why the water pressure is so low.... uhhh ohhhh...

Off I go, scouting the outside taps. As soon as I get down the front steps I hear a great gushing. Dammit, must be the tap on the far side of the house. Wait... there's water flooding merrily from under the greenhouse/garden shed door. On my way across the driveway I almost broke my neck on the ice where the melting snow had dripped off the eaves.

Then I open the shed door and my feet get soaked from the 2 or three inches backed up, unable to escape under the door. I lean in with the flashlight to see just where the break is, and get sprayed from the chest down from the 4-inch gap where pipe used to be.

Okay, where the hell is the shutoff? Check the garage for a main tap... nope...
Find out that tap's connected into the sprinkler system, the valve for which is in a box right next to the water main box, in the middle of the front side lawn. Ahhh, now we're getting somewhere.

Heh heh, only problem is that that's where all the snow off the driveway has been shovelled to, and it ranges from 2 to nearly 4 feet deep. Then there's the matter of having to guess just where to start digging. At least hubby guessed pretty well, though at first we didn't see it because it's half overgrown and was covered with the flood flowing down the lawn under the snow. Finally got it turned off after an hour or so.

Yeah, it's not really that big a deal, but it's definitely not what I wanted to do on Christmas eve!

(stoopid winter)

There's a sign at a nearby mall for "Loster Law" offices. Of course the brain wants to make letters into recognisable words, so I always see "Lobster" and since law doesn't go with lobster I also see "claw". I wonder what they'd say if I sent them a letter adressed to Lobster Claw?

Coincidentally my public defender's name was Lobster Claw.

Y'all just need to chill out about the snow. (Perhaps not the best metaphor, I know, sorry!) You just need the right attitude about snow. It's not about shoveling, it's about play!

lol you need to come over to my house and shovel the driveway a few times. That will cure your positive outlook. ;)

One word: Snowblower

Highly effective snow removal and it puts a grin on your face at the same time.

That dog looked like it was having some serious fun!!!!

As for me...we haven't had much snow since we got to Wisconsin. Only a couple of inches. Back home the temperature is supposed to get up to 47F this weekend.

Had one for the past 6 years, However we are moving to New Zealand soon and my wife sold the snowblower in anticipation of being gone already, However the housing market has delayed our move and now we shovel.

Oh, i don't know. I thought 18 below in Montana was bordering on chilly. I do, however, know chili. And when it gets chilly, i make chili.

When starting at 74, chilly doesn't even come close.
