Okay, I just got a new 22" DELL monitor... Now I can't use my 4x6" wacom with my photoshop!!! Eeek!!! It doesn't cover the whole area of the screen and I find myself venturing off the area I am on into no-man's land. I have to pick the pen up (off the desk at this point) and move it over... WAYYY over... to switch tools or change colours. Then it is back again to do what I intended in the first place. SO frustrating!!!!!

My ?

Is there a way to set up the wacom so that it covers the full screen? Or am I going to have to bite the bullet and get a new one????

I've never used one of these before but googled it after seeing your question. This looks like something I simply must have...:) Is yours an Intuos? Or which model is it?

I have a 24" Dell monitor but I'm sure there will be a way to get it to work. Sorry I can't help you though but... hmmmm... maybe my justification for buying it is to better support other DPC members - LOL :)

You should be able to just go back into your Wacom software and re-map the screen parameters - unless you are using it with CS3 in which case there are other threads looking at mapping issues

Go to your Wacom tablet properties and go to the "Mapping" tab - you should be able to re-map to your new monitor.

When I set up my new monitor, and dual monitors, I remapped with no problems at all.

While remapping may help, I found that the smaller tablet when remapped made my movements too odd when that little of a tablet covered a huge screen. WHen I went bigger then 19" on my monitor I went to a larger tablet because I couldnt deal with the smaller tablet anymore.

This is exactly what I was worried about, Matt. But, I will try the remapping first and see if it helps my zissue :)

Trollman, I am roflmao!! Haha!!

To answer your question, it is the graphire tablet. Ruby red :) shutterpug sent it to me for Christmas last year.

Yes, I am using CS3.

UPDATE: The hubby's 5x7 generic brand tablet works MUCH better. It was the small 4x6 writing area of the other one that was the issue. So, we traded. Problem solved until I can get a bigger wacom.

New issue: (I know, I KNOW!!) CS3 has suddenly quit letting me SFW and it's making me CRAZY!!! Any ideas on a fix??

Gotta convert 16-bit to 8-bit (Image>mode) before you can save for web. Maybe that's it?

"Save for web" should work whether it's 16 or 8 bit. Now if you do a regular type of save (i.e. File/Save) then you must convert to 8-bit first before you can save as a jpeg.

They are all 8 bit. I only leave that mode when doing really heavy processing so as not to disturb the integrity of the image toooo much.

Even when I open a brand new jpeg, do nothing to it, SFW is grayed out. Resize it, same thing. I am going nuts LOL!!

No one has any ideas? :)

Are you on a PC? If so check to see if the save for web prefs file is on your system. The path to the file will be something like this:

C:\Documents and Settings\Owner\Application Data\Adobe\Save For Web\8.0

You won't have an "owner" folder as it will be called whatever you log in with and the last folder should be the version of PS you use.
