Most video editing software will let you do this. If you're on pc and don't have any aftermarket video editing software, import it into Windows Movie Maker and you can rotate it there. |

I accidentally did the same thing out of habit with my Powershot S5. The software I had didn't allow me to rotate the video, though. Oops. |

It's in the "Effects" area.

Heck no. I did the same thing with my camera phone, that's how I knew the answer.
If it was a dumb question I would have given you a dumb answer like tilt your head or turn your monitor on it's side. :-)

Do what I did and just upload the rotated video "as is" to youtube and wait for the comments to roll in... |

I caught my hubby holding my laptop on its side to watch!!! heheheh
Instinct makes me turn the camera to get a better capture...then when I upload, I say....damn....did it again!

Only because it hadn't been asked before -- I've wanted to know how to do this as well. :-) |

Thank god it's not just me. Back in 2004 I borrowed the videocamera to take footage of my husband zooming across from one tree to the next on the canopy tree tops tour in Tsitsikamma, South Africa. Having used a regular camera for over 20 years I just instinctively turned it to portrait to get everything in. When we finished the canopy tour and I showed it to Pete he looked at me and just said, laughing, that we'd make sure we turned the TV on it's side when we watched that bit. Until then I'd not even THOUGHT about it. We had hysterics for about half an hour...
