Are you allowed to dodge and burn in basic editing?

:)

You can dodge the crowds and burn the credit card when you actually buy that stuff in the window.

Otherwise no.

Simple answer to this one - NO!

Edit: Beaten to it by Matt - and I preferred his answer, too!

Thanks guys.

I know it may seem obvious, but I just wanted to check... thankles :)

Oooh, and do we have any former examples i.e. challenges of this?

I did read the rules... but couldn't decipher whether I could dodge and burn or not...

And tried looking in the challenge archives.

Thanks.

Tis true, anything done has to be done to the image as a whole. So you can do things like adjust brightness, contrast, but not for just certain sections of the image.

There hasn't been a window shopping challenge before but thre was a "For Sale" challenge. Not quite the same though.

But the converse isn't necessarily true -- i.e. if you do it to the image as a whole, then it's legal in basic. For instance, you can use only normal blend modes in Basic...

Ah I see.... they may want to expand on the description for people who are not familiar with the terms :) Be more blatant i.e. no dodge, burn etc.
