When I heard I could borrow studio lights I decided to try it with a theme, so i ended with an ELEMENTS theme (Earth, Air, Fire, Water) leaning toward fantasy.

I got home and plugged the stuff in - not having an ounce of clue what the hell I was doing, so I just pushed a few buttons on the back of the lights, moved em around, held up an arbitrary piece of white board for... I dont know exactly but I saw someone do it so it looked cool.

Anyway, then I got two friends to help out, and well... here is the result thus far.

I still need to shoot Earth and Air in the new year.

Would love to hear your input.

I find them very nice, its a great chance to use a studio, and you've done well,
The only thing I am not sure about are the eyes, I know the effect you are looking to achieve, but I think they eyes specially in the water shot is a over processed, the hands might be a also a bit over exposed.
Beside that, it is just wonderful, very well done,
usually the foam walls are used as a reflector when you don't want to use a direct light/strobe for fill.

Thanks for the input!!

The eyes weren't meant to be natural as such, as I aimed to create a "powerful being" but I agree with you there.

I cloned some of the ice in softly, to get more depth to them, but it didn't work out too great.

I'll have a look at it though thanks!

You are most welcome .. and thanks for taking it in a positive way,
If you still have the RAW files, I would suggest brightening the colors and even changing them to match the theme, while keeping the texture of the eye. This is of course my humble opinion, keep up the good work and very well done,

i would say pretty darn good, I agree with the eyes on hte water babe, it looks too fake like a couple of round dots. and on the fire babe, I would blend in the top of her head with the flames better as it seems she just has a straight line of flames across her head!!!

Nicely done you should add how and what you did in PS in your comments.

(so I can try it hehe)

Fake and overprocessed are two different things in my book. Given the fantasy theme, I intended for her eyes to be like that. Granted a wee-bit of texture might make a difference - my aim is not to humanise her.

Look at Storm in X-men

Or Isaac Mendez in Heroes... etc.

Just because they appear human doesn't mean they have to be by any rule:)

Ill shoot them in the new year.

I have a model for earth, but Air is a little bit more of a challenge...
