Math Question Help Please.., i suck

Yeh, im lame and cant seem to figure out how to measure 3/5 of an inch on a ruler. the lines dont match up or something. please help. i need to measure out segments of 3.6 inches and i cant seem to do it. is this a blond thing?

The lines are broken into sixteenths. .6 of an inch....it's about 5/8ths...

so i could basically go with 1.5 centimeters right? i can deal with that i think

so wait. ill be measuring out 3 inches and 1.5 centimeters...thats lame. is there an easier way?(hints at telling me how many centimeters are in 3.6 inches:)

1 inch is equal to 2.54 centimeters.
So multiply 3.6 by 2.54 centimeters. That should get you what you asked for.

Using the trusty slide-rule (yes I have one) the closest I get is 3.609375 inches equal 3-39/64ths of an inch or just over 3-5.8ths of an inch. Or like others have said just use centimeters and you'll get 9.144 centimeters or you can go with millimeters and have 91.44 millimeters

wait wait no one go anywhere. i guess i screwed something up from the beginning. i have a line that is 27 inches long. i am transfering a line that is 6 3/4 inches long onto it. there are 9 segments in the line. how long is each seg? i guess 9.1 cm didnt work

6 3/4 divided by 9, well 6 3/4 is also 6.75 / 9 = 0.75 or 3/4
