Hello
I have a problem here where I have a Canon 450D slr and have Photoshop CS3. I cant seem to read my RAW files. Can someone please advise me as to what update version is compatible with CS3. I have downloaded version 5.2 but this has not helped.
Thanks

You need Adobe Camera Raw 5, and it's not compatible with CS3. Happy upgrading. Until then, you'll either have to use the Canon software that came with your camera, the Mac's OS-level support (iPhoto, Preview, etc), or use Adobe's DNG converter.
EDIT- I stand corrected. Camera RAW 4.6 will hook you up.

If you're shooting RAW on a Mac, Aperture is a wonderful tool for handling your files!
I don't know what I would do without it now, purely as an image management tool it's great, but put into that all the non destructive editing tools, I find I spend most of my non camera time there. I only use Photoshop for the occasional "difficult" shot or where I want to do some creative editing.
I've heard Lightroom 2 is also very good, though I've never used it so I can't really comment. |
