Do you intend "any" image shot in B&W mode, or a color image which is "naturally" gray?

Minimal Editing Rules :)
Basically, no crop, or any edits, must shoot in jpeg, you can only rotate in 90 degree increments, you can only sharpen in with the sharpen tool. To convert to black and white only use De-saturation, or convert to grey-scale in photoshop.

I'm a big fan of B&W, so I'm putting my "YES" in for this

I'm a big fan of B/W also ... but I want to do the conversion on my own ... not have to submit what my camera captures ...

I remember taking part in the Minimalism II(minimal editing) challenge. My shot happened to be a b/w one. Though I liked the outtake better for its creamy smooth look, it wasn't as minimal. //www.dpchallenge.com/image.php?IMAGE_ID=457729

I was quite surprised to find the 300D doesn't have a B/W in the parameters setup. pffft. We've had about 5 challenges run under the official Minimal ruleset and neither of them had a b/w criteria. Maybe a flag could be added that the only processing that can be done is a simple desat. You may then still set the contrast adjustments in camera. I found that when shooting directly to b/w jpg the shot had to be over exposed just a tiny bit to get a slight punch in contrast. Setting the proper metering mode and such.

That is in the rules.
You may "fully desaturate your image using your editing software’s “desaturate,” “convert to grayscale” or equivalent function. Customizable tools are not allowed."

Thanks for the heads up :)
I haven't read those in ages. I should've read those again before posting. Now I'm beginning to remember why I shot straight to b/w (+raw).
