By default, lightroom stores its library files in the my pictures folder in the C:\ drive. I did not change this default when I installed lightroom originally, and now my C:\ drive is almost full. Does anyone know how to get LR to change the default drive for an existing catalog?

You can set the catalogue location in your preferences.

Copy the existing catalogue to where you want it. Open Lightroom and change the default location for the catalogue.

Once you confirm that it can find the catalogue in the new location, remove it from the old location.

Option 2: Create the catalogue in a new location and with LR open, open the catalogue at the new location. This isn't permanent though as the default will still point to the My Documents location.

when i go to preferences there is a button to push to go to catalog settings. that shows you the location of the library, but does not give you a way to change the location. I'm using 1.4, if that makes a difference.

Yup, v2 lets you change it.

You should be able to open an alternate catalogue though from the file menu. I don't know if you can set the newly opened catalogue as the default.
