Okay so we had a busted pipe yesterday...yay...it was very nice of the water company to shit it off and notify us AFTER the bill reached %500.00.. okay anyway.. as i as saying.. so we went to lowes and they had when you walked in a board they made advertising a sale on wall paper- they used one that looked like bricks (texture and all) and the idea popped in the pea size brain of mine.. would that work? I think it would... so anyway I bought a few different rolls and some panneling... and I'm gonna give it a shot? Has anyone every attempted this? I think it would work for children.. I'm gonna work on it today and post some pics later of it.. |

Have never tried it. I think it could work. However, lighting might be a little tricky. Not knowing the exact surface finsh/texture etc of it, direct flash may produce some unnatural looking reflections. Some care of light angles etc and this should be easily avoided though.
Interested to see what the outcome of this is. Make sure you post the results |

FYI... wall paper does NOT stick to panel very well.. and hen you have no patients and get ideas... another FYI Super glue really does work... well enough to glue your hand to walpaper and a sheet of panel... just thought I'd share....
Oh yeah, since i have a handprint on the walpaper where the paper part is now missing and stuck to my hand... uh.. pictures may be a little delayed....

Too funny. You should have taken pics of THAT part! :)
I'd think a light sanding of the panelling would help? Or try a craft glue like super-tacky rather than go for the big guns first thing ;) |

Duct tape. That'll hold it up. |

I realy want to see pictures of your hand stuck to the wallpaper and Sheet of panel. You cannot share that type of story without photos!!!!!
Yes, lightly sand the panel, and use craft glue. Other thought, just hang the wallpaper (rather then attaching it to a panel), same as a backdrop. Therefore you avoid the possibility of creases in the wallpaper (or would that just be me being impatient and ending up with creases) |

Duct tape is like the force. It has a light side, a dark side, and it holds the universe together....
Edit to add, I too would like to see your hand stuck to the panel. Mishaps are fun!

I thought of the hanging thing too, but it's in small sections so that wouldn't work so well, then thought oflike a pull down shade type of thing.. it comes rolled so that would ork.. but then wondered how i would do that too.. almost finished tho, so pics will be on tonight.. |

See what I mean about the direct light fropm your flash though. The material used for backdrops by naturtal does not create reflections like this. Thats why i thought that the lighting would be tricky.
Softbox would probably work though...... |

Spray paint it with textured spray from somewhere like wal-mart. Should kill the glare. |

Okay My Wheels are turning! and I have some ideas on how to make this thing possibly work!
stay tuned for tomorrow's episode of " The DYI Dumba**"
disclaimer: do not attempt this at home. Super glue is dangerous and should not be used by an amateur. Serious injury can occur such as gluing yourself to panel and wall paper. |

I think it would work when you want it to look like you're shooting outdoors but don't want to freeze your heinie off :)
Hey, maybe you could graffiti it with chalk for a grungier look, too? (Is it washable wallpaper?) |

You know what else would work great? Those brick wall panels. Just go over to the paneling section and take a look. Not sure the price, but think they'd be kind of neat. |

I think that looks good!... I like the idea of putting graffiti on it too, especially if it is washable....then each person could personalize it |
