Got my Nikon D100 last week and finaly had a chance to play with it properly yesteday.

It came with a crappy lens - 28-100 f3.5~5.6, so I went out and brought the sigma 70-200EX 2.8, so big but so fast!

Here are my first proper pics! Bear in mind the subjects are poor, I just went to my local park to test the lens. All shots were handheld which is what I was trying to do, to what speeds I could go down to with this lens/camera. Pretty happy with teh results to say the least. So much more clarity and definition than with my E20.

This was me trying the predictive focus, something I never had with the Oly - superb! Works 9 times out of 10 so watch out for more action shots ;)

Again at full res - this shows so much detail in feathers etc.

All in all so very happy the D100 seems great;)

Only prob is indoor shots with the 70-200 I have to stand in another room.

There were some more - better ones ;) But saving in case I decide to submit one to the December Challenge!

Congratulations on the purchase of the new camera. Some of the DPC folks are aware that I am a dedicated Nikon fan and have been for 28 years. So, I expect that you will enjoy the camera and the wonderful image quality it provides. I own a D100 too and use it as my everyday carry-around camera. It is a terrific product. Enjoy. We will all look for you in the DPC winner's circle collecting ribbons soon.

Welcome to the D100 club! I think you'll enjoy it, as I have over the past year. 15,072 shots and counting on mine!
