Here's a chance for all of us parents to post your kids' xmas portraits without getting all the nasty comments in a challenge. (only Sonifo can really get away with that;)

I have 3 kids, so portrait sittings are always a challenge. This is the one we decided to go with this year.

I used my new Speedlight 420Ex Flash unit. So nice to have a decent flash. Didn't need the 2x500W tungsten lighting units. There was no complaining about the heat.

Anybody else take portraits of their kids?

Your kids have beautiful eyes! They look so much alike, same mouth, same pixi-like expression. Neat picture.

Cute kids Mariomel. I'll repost pics of my main man, Samuel. I'm a parent now, I get to bug people with my kid pics.

With a diaper:

High risk diaperless on white sheet shot:

Mariomel, you're right, it's great to have a nice flash. I used my 550EX, bounced the light off the ceiling and used a Omni Bounce; camera handheld. A bit of a harsh shadow under his chin, but other than that, the lighting worked great.

Very nice shots, Jacques! Getting into NUDES already? LOL!

How old is Samuel now? Already holding his head up so high? Man how time flies. I remember when my Alexander was that young. They grow up really fast, so it's important to take losts of pictures to help remember.

It's hard to get them to look at them camera all at the same time, all smiling, so we got them to watch their mother, who was just off to the side, tossing mini-marshmallows up in the air and trying to get them in her mouth. Half a second later, they're rolling on the floor laughing, as the marshmallow bounces off her nose!

Lots of fun! No one cried! YEah!

I had a whole lot of Christmas portraits this year. My own children were probably the worst of the bunch too. But since I did post a few to pbase this morning, I "picked" this one to post here.

The one that got picked

Unfortunately, the viewing quality at Yahoo is not good...but here's the x-mas portrait we are using in our cards this year (hope I post the link correctly - bear with me, this is my first ever post!)

Here's a couple of other shots taken about that same time...again assuming I post the links correctly)

Hehe. We took Christmas portraits the other day. My son, my sister's two kids, and my brother's four boys (ages 2 - 8). Talk about chaos. I'm just happy when most of them are looking at the camera at the same time.

My father, who passed away 2 years ago, was an avid sportsman, and always bought the kids Carhartt overalls for Christmas. This year, in memory of him, that's how we dressed them all. We also had shots of them wearing jerseys from either University of Tennessee or University of North Carolina (except for my niece who wanted to wear her Cubbies shirt).

Clicking on the thumbnail only takes me to the page where I can see the low res thumbnail, not the page that shows the actual printable files, which are much better quality. Any suggestions?

My brother's four boys

My sister's son and daughter

And my little boy

And here is a shot of them in their jerseys. I didn't like the background, so I pasted them in a shot of a Christmas tree. My PS skills aren't so great.

Here are a few other Xmas portraits I took this year that I was particularly fond of. My own kids pictures were probably the worst of all the Xmas pictures I took this year. Next year, I think I'm taking them to someone else. So here are some other people's kids.

My Niece

My Nephew

Dinah

I actually took quite a few portraits this year, but these are a few that I like the best.

Special thanks to my wife who helped me do all of these too.
