I've been looking for a IS lens, and newegg has this one for a fairly good price.

I recently ordered a sigma 70-300mm APO DG (red ring), it is still in the mail.
However, after I ordered it, I noticed the Canon 55-250mm one with IS for just a few bucks more.
And many tests online suggest that the Canon one is worth the extra bucks because it is more consistent in IQ all over the range... while the Sigma one falls soft beyond 200mm. Plus, the Canon may give a few stop's advantage because of the IS.
The one thing thats keeping me with Sigma until now is the pseudo macro thingy.. but I found out I could used a converter to get a better IQ for semi-macro from Canon also.
Any thoughts?? |
