my d700 isn't showing up in my new (previous generation) macbook pro's finder, which is irritating to say the least. the files show up in both iphoto and lightroom2, but nikon camera control 2.3 isn't recognizing it either. is there anyway to manually find my camera when the finder won't?
thanks for any help, this is frustrating the heck out of me. i often drag files from the camera to a hard drive before running them through any editing program, and now i can't do that. |

Sorry, I think I'll have to pass to a Nikon user. For a Canon camera, in this case, I'd use Canon EOS Utility. |

sounds like a card reader will solve your problem
I prefer to use them anyway--hate having that cable tying my camera to the computer anyway, and opening the rubbery door to the cable jack is likely to overwork it in my opinion--plus I am not using my camera battery to turn the camera on during transfer, either. |

He wants to be able to shoot tethered to the MacBook, so a card reader is not a solution for him.

oooooops. I missed that in the thread--eyes are tired and the font is small (the Excuse Generator app on my iphone sure is handy!) Thanks for clarifying, sorry for heading down the wrong path. |
