arg. 1st vote was a 7. Now, after 5, down to a 5.4.

I Do not believe I will be staying with DPC for much longer, it is becoming very boring when you produce a 6 photo and it opens at mid 4's challenge after challenge after challenge.

As a new member I have previously only submitted to the basic challenges. I have had great fun, my score has gone up each week and I have clearly learned lots from your comments. Perhaps it was time to be brave and try the next level
So I took the plunge and entered my first advanced challenge. I took extra special care with my photo, and even tried a little post shot processing! On the whole I was really please with my efforts. Until I viewed the other entries!!!!
Wow I have just entered the premiership. My score is at 4.63 after 23 votes. I am not complaining about the score. When I look at your shots I am clearly in the run for the wrong colour ribbon.
Ohh well, off to the park bench to look for some inspiration............and a good teacher!

You definitely have the right approach so I'm confident you'll do good better in no-time!
One thing that worked wonders for me is to start comment other members' images. Not only the good ones but also the ones you don't care about. Try to be critical and write what you think would make those images better. But also remember to write why you think images are good and why you think they are good.
By doing this you will broaden your perspective on what constitutes good images, learn how to get the technical things in order and use other people's work for yourself to get better. After a while you start to get all this in the back of your head so it becomes second nature.
I promise you that this will pay off in spades. And it also helps the person that you are commenting.
Having said all this; I still have ways to go myself! :) |
