I took some shots of the wildfire that blazed through Montecito last night and is creeping into Santa Barbara. Currently they aren't giving much information about containment, but the winds have died down considerably and they have air bombers and a DC-10 making drops. So far, upwards of 100 homes have burned.

My mom left me an IM about this morning her time. She didn't know at that time (or didn't mention) that 100 homes have burned. She has a very good friend who lives in Montecito. And the homes there are very, very expensive. Hope they get it contained soon. The fires there always make her (and me) nervous.

| That's crazy! I was standing on top of a hotel (I can't remember the name...it's the one on the boardwalk that has the rainbow colored arch out front) and we could see everything. My friend is the manager so he let me on the roof for a few hours. I'll post my pictures later tonight. |
