Two challenges that both interest me! Do I do this one, or the "where is art" challenge? Decisions, decisions! |

Funny, I find macros are what needs the least work after capture and this turns out to be advanced rules. I would like advanced rules in challenges like last week's Mirror challenge or other similar ones like landscapes. I'll probably end up only using sat or levels in this challenge.
Why are the open challenges advanced editing this week? |

Maybe to give the non-paying members a taste of what they get if they upgrade? After the server incident the other day that caused the upload failures, Langdon may have a need for some equipment upgrades. |

Been far too long since I pulled out my macro and extension tubes ... looking forward to this one.
Voting is fun on this one too, and lots and lots of comments as everyone tries to guess what your entry is. I would wager that the first Puzzle Macro had the highest average number of comments per entry of any challenge ever ...

Ahh yes, a business mind at work. :) Hope the site gets the update it deserves. |

I knew there was a way to do that and couldn't remember which menu to go in to get those stats. :-) Interesting that most of the others at the top of that list had a lot fewer entries, many under 100. PM had 298 -- next closest was jewelry ad with 155. |

Well that's got to be a new record for me, photo taken and submitted the first day of the challenge!! Of course I'm now going to spend the rest of the week re-shooting it only to find the fist shot was the best :) |

I have 80 shots taken, I never shoot the first day but for this challenge I will shoot every day. So many ideas. :) |

I do believe you shouldn't discuss your photo until after the voting? all 'fist' shots will now get marked down ;) |

I feel like I may be the only person in the world who doesn't have a true macro lens, extension tube, or reversing ring. How acceptable is it to use a drastic crop to achieve a macro? Or are people not so picky about the 1:1 thing as long as the outcome is puzzling? (Though my experience on here is that "not so picky" doesn't apply to anything on this site) |

Personally I like to think Macro means 1:1 but am thinking these days a closeup means the same thing so go for it :) |

I would like to see DPC define what constitutes a macro and what constitutes a closeup image? I find that many do not know what a real macro shot is, compared to a regular closeup. It's like the difference between a snapshot and a well composed shot, for me anyways.

I'm more curious about what constitutes literal representation of existing artwork...
Rhetorical of course, but first couple of ideas I had were borderline. Not worried because probably I won't find the time to shoot it anyway. |

Wooo Hooo! I SO want to stay up for this one, but I have to get up early for work :/ Can't wait to see all of the crazy abstractions this challenge has produced. Watch out for my entry, it's the 'actually macro' one ;) |

I will vote and comment on this one for sure. I've been a slacker lately with my voting and commenting. :|
