Photograph perfect strangers as if they were famous persons, stealing moment of their private life.
The problem is that as you may not be a real paparazzi, having his/her own lawyer as a protection, you have to be carefull either to receive the agreement of the person you photograph, or to be sure the person cannot be recognized. And this is the contrary of a paparazzi photographâ€Â¦ =(
Anyway, this could be a “fun to do” challenge, with a lot of out of focus picturesâ€Â¦

As long as we're not selling the pictures or using them for profit, we don't need permission do we? Especially if the person was in a public place? I don't know much about the laws but I expect there are lots of people who will correct me :P

I do not think there would be much liability to someone who took such a photograph in the US. As long as the picture isn't defaming character in anyway and as long as the picture was taken in a public place.
This is what is so great about the 1st amendment.

This is pretty much true. Selling for advertising something or promoting something is out. If it is a "journalistic" (can't think of the word-brain is fried) photo that represents that person, in public, I am pretty sure there is no problem.
For instance, someone took a photo of Nicole Kidman leaving my house with her hair all messed up and her dress on backwards, and the photo was taken from the street (since I do not have up the eight foot high wall to block the view of my house). I am sure she will have no recourse in getting that photo back or suppressed....DAMMIT!! (C:
