I've been playing with the freeware version of Photomatix. It's easy to use and I'm pretty happy with what it does. I know the pay version has some additional methods of blending the images, but I don't really understand what the practical difference is. Can someone fill me in?

Bump?

I thought the trial version simply limited the final image size to less than a meg, or 1024x768. I could be wrong about that.

I thought the same.

The trial is fully functional and never expires, but applies a watermark to images produced with one of the two Tone Mapping methods and four of the six exposure blending modes.

This isn't the trial version, it's a freeware version, and does not include the extra functions that require $$. Perhaps it's a fairly new offering from them?

It's the third item down on the Photomatix downloads page
