Hi All,

I want to capture images and blow them up large.....

maybe 200 cm x 100 cm and 300 cm x 100 cm.

Just wondered if the 40D I have is OK to for this and wondered what software / plugin I need (CS3 user)

Any help / advise is really appreciated.

Many thanks

Tony

how big is that in inches?

Alien Skin does a plugin called Blowup that ive used with fine results. Another is Genuine Fractals but its expensive (well, if you pay for it).

40d is fine, ive had a 4ft x 6ft print made onto foamboard and had plastic banners made from pics and theyve all been poifect.

cheers Tez,

lets say 78 inches long side - 200cm - 6ft X 4ft is doable......

Which one did you use and - where did you get the printing on foamboard done?

cheers Tez

printing was actually done by my dad who needed a picture for a demonstration he was doing in holland (i think). The pic he printed was done on the 400d which is also 10 mp. For that print i didnt do anything as i left it for my dad to show off the interpolating skills of whatever hard/software he was demoing.

I've used blowup a few times for other commercial uses, biggest print so far has been 55 inches long for some posters to hang around a sports show and they looked great- not from 1cm away of course but from average viewing distances they looked fine- im talking about 4 feet away. I was using the first incarnationof blowup and i think theyve made a second version that boasts better output for larger sizes.

There are programmes out there, but you pay for them... well, if you want to ;)
