Here are some shots from downtown I took tonight. I used Photomatix to crunch them together and then PP in PS Elements. Andy Advice on these is always welcome.

I personally think you have not done so bad a job with these for a first crack at it, well done indeed. There are many levels of tonemapping/HDR and you simply have to find the level that best suits yourself.
