Carry on! :)

I had a slightly smaller scratch today. I got the 50D :-)

I love my 40Ds (I got 3).
I got to use a 5D for a few weeks (vs a 30D back then) and didn't like it, overall.

Now this time around I'm more interested (and able to buy (as in pay) for it). I like FF for the brighter view finder (i'm not getting any younger my doctor tells me). I've been accumulating FF/ L lenses so I won't have to buy lenses and a body at the same time. The shallower DOF of a FF body interests me and the video thing has me very intrigued.

The fly in the ointment is the focus system. That's what I didn't like about the 5D and from what I've been able to figure out it's the same on the new body as it was on the old one. So I'll have to wait till I can get my hands on one to really decide if I'm going for it.

But i'm running out of things to buy and will sooner or later have to pay Uncle Sam his due, so I may opt for one for 'tax reasons' LOL. (my tax man told me any income I make the rest of this year will be taxed at around 50%, so yeah, it's a factor for me to consider).

It's the same as the 40D and the 50D except it also has the 6 invisible assist points whereas the others don't from what I can see below. I don't think Canon has any intention of making it any better. They may tweek it here and there. Ultimately some features are reserved for the 1d series and that's probably where they will remain. I do wish they would have increased the shutter speed a bit more though.

I am still perfectly happy with my Canon EOS-350D Rebel XT...
Combination with Sigma 70-300mm f/4-5.6 APO DG Macro for Canon and Canon EF 50mm f/1.8 II, took some nice photos. The low points I am getting is not the camera, it's me :|

One complain about the whole machine, stupid LCD viewer so small :P

I am getting external 12inch flatscreen monitor that I am going to attach to my camera and carry it around with a shoulder-holder-to-my-face attachment thing so each shot I can review the image in real-time with full colors. That maybe satisfy my viewing crave... thinking now old days there were no preview screens... Than again, I am not that old am I LOL

Spent tons last few months, 5D will wait for a while. But I am pretty sure; my next camera will be a full-frame.
