OK - I just received my studio stobes, stands, umbrellas....and so far I love it!!!
However, my question is with the photoflex umbrellas. The inside has a white satin like material, which seems like it's made for reflecting the strobe. The outside is a soft white material and when I turn the set-up in that direction, it appears that it diffuses the light.
Now, am I making this up in my mind or are umbrellas like this made to do two different things? |

Some are, if it's translucent, then you can shoot into it like a softbox. |
