I bought, off of Hedonics.com, a super-cheapy put-together lightbox and 2 lights. I put it together, used the lights...then managed to trip over the extension cord into which the lights were plugged in, and killed BOTH bulbs!

Man! Am I good ir what?

And the power just went off..

Ok we're back *phew*

Anyway the bulbs say GU 10+C on the base and 120V 20W.

Where can I get more? The few shots I did get, they lit up the lightbox perfectly.

Bulbtronics has almost everything, including a toll-free phone number.

are these it?
//www.nextag.com/light-bulb-gu10%2Bc/search-html

if so, it's a start, there are probably other links there too

the 'gu 10 +c' is the indicator of the type of base for the bulb.
so you should be able to go to anyplace that sells light bulbs and get them. Just look for that base and the voltage and wattage that you want.

Hey S.
HomeDepot sells the 50W so likely they have the 20w also ..
(have the 50w in my kitchen)
pretty common halogen spot lights

Thank gawd for that! Just unpacked the damn things this afternoon, shot for Money II, then got a suggestion so went to re-shoot...and blam! Both lights bit the dust.

Having said that...not a bad buy at all for total of about $91...a lightbox which I didn't make out of a cardboard box and tape and white plastic...and two great little lights that didn't give me hotspots.

And ralph that f1.8 50mmm is to die for. I don't care I have to focus manually. Now I just have to concentrate on dethroning Irene! ;-)

You can get them at Walmart, Home Depot, Costco, etc. That's the kind my kitchen and bedroom ceiling lights take and GE and Philips both make them. I think I paid about $10 for a 3-pack at Costco.

eta; I actually even bought one, in sealed package, at Salvation Army yesterday for 79 cents!

But you'll soon get your blast so don't get too comfy out there! Muhahahahahaahahhhahhaaaa! :-)

Nope, we just produce fake footage every few years, as an aid in keeping too many from moving here. I swear, it never snows here, honest!!

Gee, so my Mum was hallucinating when she sent me a sketch of my Dad shovelling 4 ft of snow off of the deck of their place, their first winter out there? veryyy interesting....

Don't worry, you'll get yours soon enough! Muhahahahaahaaaa!

Yes, I do remember a winter on the west coast where the snow actually stuck around for a whole week.

Victoria was in the news with people x-country skiing to work. ;oP

(In case you question this - I was living in New West at the time. Instead of ploughing the streets they just blocked them off. They are SF type hills so what the hay.

Oh I know, I was out there too at the time, living in Vancouver and working as an advertising scumbucket errr, copywriter. Gawd, 1 inch of snow and the Skytrain all but derailed and you took your life into your hands anytime you were either driving or trying to cross a street, cause NOBODY out there knows how to drive in s***! But my parents live on one of the southern Gulf Islands!

Now back to our regularly scheduled thread...

I should add that these bulbs, which are turning up in clear at the local lighting stores, are frosted and I'd like to try and find some. I'll see what shakes out in the next day or two, and if need be will go with clear, but would have to use diffusers on them.

Hmmmm, frosted... not sure if I've seen those. But at least I now know what kind of lights to use when I jury-rig a lightbox, instead of what I've been fighting with :)

Btw, how's the weather? *snickers and runs*

Oooh, now that you mention it....perfect snow for snowballs! *grabs a double handful and packs it into shape*
