OK, I'll be more specific. I've posted the same in the Aperture support forums, but I'm striking out there as well.
Briefly... The permission for my library is read/write, yet it still states the permissions are not correct. I created a new library as a test, and put in a few gigs of images. Worked fine until I closed Aperture, and then tried to reopen it. Got the same messages. It well not let me rebuild due to permissions and the consistency check runs for hours! This problems occurs whether it is on an external or internal drive. I've updated the OS and Aperture. Any one experience this? Any ideas for a solution? |

Have you tried repairing permissions with the Apple Disk Utility in the Applications/Utilities folder?
I have not experienced what you are describing. |

I did, but it would only "repair" my internal drive. That did not fix my test library on my internal drive. I'm contemplating reinstalling Aperture, or rolling back the update. |

| If you "Get Info" on your Aperture Library file and click on the padlock to authenticate, you should be able to change the permissions manually. |

Thanks Shannon. I've done that as well. I've also created test libraries on the internal and external same message. I deleted the user/library/permission Aperture file and reopened the program. No help. The only thing that works is creating a new library. I had to do that two weeks ago when I moved the library to a Drobo unit. Took a hours to manually rebuild the library. I'm doing a fresh install... My best guess is that something happened with the installation of the Drobo unit and/or the 2.1.2 update. |
