I've set up a session with my daughter's friend who had a baby boy about 3 weeks ago.

It's a free sitting and this girl has been like a daughter to me for the last 10 years. She's 18 now and a beautiful mother and I would like to brighten her life a little more with some kick a** photos.

I have a studio with two alien bees, 1 boring wrinkly backdrop, a ring light, a D80, a 50mm.1.8, and an 18-135mm, and a 100mm macro.

I'm looking for some examples of infant pics... or maybe some good links.

ANY advice with newborns extremely appreciated :)

now is a good time to get some cheep wings, butterfly, angels, lady bug wings.. from clairs in the malls. at halloween time they always have them and they have them in all sizes from infant -liek 10yr olds and usually run about 12-20 dollars each. which are cute.

I attended a Sam Puc Bellies and Babies event, let me tell you something. If you want to shoot babies you need to attend. I was there after having shot one family and let me tell you it opened up my eyes to alot of stuff. My next session was a great success, and since she has shown those photos I have booked 4 sessions from her Word of mouth advertising, and showing the photos to them.

I do have a few samples online somewhere from both of the shoots. But here are a few simple tips. Learn patience, do it at an hour normally good for the child, keep the room warm, especially if you are doing nudes of the baby, interaction between mom and baby are important in those photos containing them.

These are from my session after seeing Sam.

Here is the first. Big difference in my opinion

Also.. most walmarts are the same so yesterday when i was there they had a ginormus teacup and saucer that was actually for you to plant a plant in but when i saw it i was thinking pet photography.. only my golden retriiver would be wayyyy to big.. but i think they were about 20 dollars too and a new born would fit perfect in it..
