Ever wonder what a photo tour would be like?
Well, I took the plunge last year and did a couple of tours, Northwest Highlands and the Isle of Skye with PhotographScotland. It was a lot of fun. The itinerary is loose but works. The best part is the group size, max 4 with a minimum of 3 to have the tour go ahead.
I'm planning on going again to two different areas, Ardnamurchan and the Western Isles (Outer Hebrides).
This could be a GTG where someone's already made up the itinerary, has the accommodation and food all worked out.
No, I don't get a commission. I just think it would be fun to meet up with a few people from DPC while on vacation.

Colette, it sounds like a fantastic itinerary! Andi and I just returned from the Isle of Mull in the inner hebridies and we wish we could go back tomorrow! We've been 3 times in a year and driven pretty much all the roads on the island but still don't feel we've seen hardly any of it!
On our trip in April we also drove around a bit of The Ardnamurchan Peninsula as I bought Andi and Rinac a plot of land each for a giggle last Christmas. That makes them Laird and Lady now btw ;o) Whilst it's beautiful and there are some stunning views I would really encourage you to cross the water at Kilchoan and go over on the car ferry (well it holds about 3 cars!) to Tobermory on the Isle of Mull...the island is well worth a visit if you are so close and even the views from the morning ferry blow Andi and I away!
Sadly we are now saving for our 2009 BIG trip to Oz and NZ so no hebridean holiday for us next year :o(
Keep us posted on how things are going and I'll look forward to the photos! :o)

Keep us posted and show some images.
I'm long, long overdue to visit Ireland and Scotland. I was Londoner in a past life so I need to pass by there every now and again to say hello to my ghost friends and my new pals, as well. Could make for a nice package...
Those rainy GTG images make me so jealous.
Hey-If this upcoming election doen't go well for me is there any way I could find a job or some legal status in England or Ireland? I may need to split the States (shits getting old here) but the real catch is that I don't like working. So, if there's any room for a lazy American with a lot of opinions, please PM me. -Cheers
eta: I will consider working if I can still maintain a slothy lifstyle...and take pix.

My first trip to Scotland included Mull and Iona. I was sorry I missed Skye then. I'd go back to Skye in a heartbeat but I want to see new places. When I run out of those in Scotland I'll go back to Skye. Maybe if the tours of Skye and Glencoe are back to back I would do that but that's getting way too far ahead of myself.
I've kept in touch with one of the participants from Skye and we briefly floated the idea of doing our own tour of Yorkshire, the Lake District, Wales or some combination thereof. Who knows when we can coordinate that though.

Funny, we talked with a friend of ours who lives on Mull about taking a trip to Skye and she said DON'T! Maybe I need to see a few more pictures of the place to get an idea of whether it's as beautiful as we feel Mull is!

Some beautiful images there Colette! Maybe when we're done paying for the big holiday we'll maybe take a trip to Skye...if we can manage to tear ourselves away from Mull lol

Thanks.
Your friend's recommendation to not go to Skye could be based on time of year. I suspect in the summer it could get pretty crowded.
In October it's great.

That would be great. I put up the link to the photo tour site in case anyone wanted to do the same tours as I am.
