Are there resources to find out the value of used camera gear? I am interested in some good used lenses but I have no idea how much they are really worth and thus what a fair price would be.

I actually gave this link in the other thread, but I'll post again here :)

This Blog Halfway down the page it talks about how to get a real time value for your stuff. With step by step.

Thanks Jojo The link had me scratching my head at first when it looked like the subject was dolls!

Go to KEH.com
From there you can see what the current market is selling at, give or take.

Look on ebay.

Thanks for the info. I'll check out those suggestions. So from what I see at this point, there is no real guide available to research the value of used camera gear. Any other suggestions?

The subject IS dolls, but it works for anything really. It's pretty much a step by step guide to getting a real time value for whatever you are buying/selling :)

That's what I typically do. I'll watch several of the exact same item over a couple weeks and see where the auctions actually end.

Edit: What Jojo said.

Actually, you can look at completed auctions anytime, no need to wait.

Just checked EBay and I saw the completed auctions tab. That looks like as good of an indicator as any to the value of items in that category. Thanks Spaz
