I want to create some stats on what focal length most of my shots are at!

Is there a way in CS3 to be able to group by focal length as I can't seem to find it. Looking at the filter tab I can't see how to add an extra filter, is this possible?

cheers
Robert

Are you talking about Bridge? You may be able to create your own custom filters.

I know you can do it in Lightroom and since it essentially is using an engine similar to Bridge and ACR it may be possible..

In Bridge go to 'Edit' ---> 'Find' and change the criteria to focal length and use whatever parameters you want. Not exactly what you want, but it might help :)

cheers, that's not too bad as I can just run it a few times to give me some numbers :)

Don't forget to analyze time of day as well, then cross reference your time of day stats with your focal length stats and divide by your average aperture setting and multiply by shutter speed squared. You'll be amazed at what you find.

Ohhh yeah, I'd forgotten to cross reference against the square of the shutter speed, I wouldn't want to be without that information :)

If you code, there are libraries that retrieve the EXIF data. Just Google Search.
