...give me a few hints, tips, suggestions...

I entered the following in the colour studio portrait challenge. I'm not here to complain about the score as I'm thrilled that my first attempt at really shooting in a studio environment didn't get completely hammered by the voters...

What I'd really like would be some constructive feedback from anyone who knows more about this field than I (most everyone...)

So if you have a moment...

Looking at the front page for this challenge most all were tight cropped head shots. Even though I like the model with her eyes closed, I think you might had been hit for that too. Over all very nice shot!

First off it is a good shot, really fun aspect to it... and I see where you were going with it.
I think the background got a little too blown out making the hair look a little damaged, and her skin and the picture overall appears a little too smooth and soft for my taste. I think a slightly different perspective, perhaps slightly angled a bit more down towards the model might have helped-with less empty space above her head.
