My nefew Gryphon is selling popcorn so he can go to Boy Scout Camp. When I visited the website below I noticed that for $25 we can purchase popcorn that goes directly to the our troops overseas (US). A great way to help two groups in one swing. You can also Order for yourself, with no worries, because we all do enjoy some good popcorn (-;

So if you would please go to: //www.orderpopcorn.com/Store/Catalog/Default.aspx

Please make sure you also put in Gryphon's order key: TERZKGT

When the page opens it will say Gryphon W. so you know you are in the right place.

Thank you all in advance for supporting Gryphon's choice to be involved with Scouting.

A great idea - support two worthy causes with one swipe of the card.

Thank you for shopping OrderPopcorn.com. $17.50 of this order will go directly to support Scouting!

They say they have already sent 300 tons to Iraq and Afghanistan. Must be a lot of forum debating going on in the region. :)

Does the popcorn support overseas troops, or boy scouts? Can't really tell from your post.

Both - The scouts get the donation money percentage and the troops get the popcorn.

Oh crap! I misunderstood. I thought the money was used to send Boy Scouts to Iraq! ;-)

Are you sure the online system is working? I was told that while the ordering would go OK, the individual scout and/or pack was not being properly credited.

I was under the impression if the code key: TERZKGT was used he would get proper credit. I will have to ask and see, but to my current knowledge it should be just fine, less your cookies are not saved. That could cause issue.

I sent them an email asking about it and here was their (quick) reply:

The only issue that most scout packs and troops have had is in tracking the sales on line for pack and troop awards. Often times the information goes to the scouts directly. The pack or troop coordinators get information about how much was sold and to whom but it was difficult in the past to find out who the popcorn was sold by - maybe National has figured that out now (I hope). Therefore, it is helpful to have the scout parents keep track of the online sales and give this to the popcorn 'kernal'.

OK, I'll have to inquire with our leaders again, the council here wouldn't give us the individual keys and told us the system was malfunctioning.

That could account for the delay my nefew had in getting his key (yesterday) even though he has been trying to sell it for sometime.
