We had the old Zenity 8086's at work too, I remember trying to load Harvard Graphics on it...it had somthing like 40 5 1/4" floppies, took me all day! lol. Then a coworker bought a new 486 from Gateway (back when THEY were the bomb) and was amazed at how fast it loaded the 30 something discs of, I think, Word. He actually did it a couple times because he thought it didn't do it right since it went so fast lol. I was the talk of the command when I was the first to get the new 80 meg hard drive...it helps to know people in the computer repair department lol.

At home in high school we also had the coleco-vision (is that right?) that had the two cassettes that sometimes you'd have to turn around and switch back and forth...oh what joy that was...did love that beetle game similar to Pac Man.

I remember doing math on cave walls. Ahhh I miss those days. Grandpa doesn't though, he got eaten by a mammoth while doing his taxes in the CPA cave. He got a refund though... sad.

my daughter has been asking for an original NES forever! She loves the old donkey kong and says that's the only game controller she ever liked. I had to remind her how hard it was to find one and how they are kind of collectors now...also brought up the fact that the only person that could ever get one to work right is the actual owner, since they knew exactly how much air to blow into the box to make it work lol.

I still have an Atari 2600 and NES, too! Actually the original Pong game is laying around somewhere.
If you have a Wii you can download the original Donkey Kong!
I also still have my Commadore 64 and the tape player too! We also have the Atari computer/game console. It was a computer and you could buy games for it too. It came out about the same time NES came out.

lol yeah I had forgotten about the blowing. It's true how we all knew the exact amount of pressure to blow into that darn slot. haha the memories.

icu1965, I still have my Vic20. The only console I regret leaving to the X is the C64. That console had the best ever Mario game in Mario64. My whole family enjoyed that game to the max and it's the fondest memories I have of family gaming where we all played together to achieve one goal, those darn stars. Great game.

Haha Love the retro gear.

In my loft I have:

Commodore 16
Commodore 64
Acorn Electron
Amiga 500 (I paid £340 for a 20mb HDD for this plus £20 for a lead to connect it)
Amiga 1200
Sega Master System
Sega MegaDrive
Playstation 1
Loads of HDD ranging from the 20mb drive mentioned above to some 2GB ones - must have about 10+ drives I'd guess.

Current games machines in use are Playstation 2 (haven't bothered with the P3 - my daughters are the only ones who play this and that is for SingStar), Wii (My wifes machine she uses it for the Wii Fit) and an XBox 360 (Which is mine and I love playing the Call of duty Series).

My first computer was a ZX81 - then I had another rubber keyed machine called an Aquarius that was purpose built I believe for some UK supermarket - I remember that was my first experiences with programming as the only games available were cartridge based and cost almost as much as the machine, I went on to code in Assembly, C#, C++, Visual Basic, Blitz Basic and more recently PHP all of which have been self taught.

Feels like I have half the history of computers and games machines in my attic though haha.

we still have a working atari2600 with original controllers that were also heavily used on the commodore 64 & 128. i remember the first game i got for the 2600 was circus atari. still one of my favorites.

i'll never forget the thumb cramps the atari controllers would cause.

and my mom was addicted to yars revenge. some nights we'd go w/o eating if she was on a role ;}
