You are so awesome. I really appreciate the offer for lending me the 20D, though it should not be necessary. The 50D is scheduled to be released on October 6th. Meanwhile I had bought a Nikon Coolpix P&S as my Optio W20 just wasn't cutting it. So, now I swing both ways, Canon and Nikon :P

I just checked the web site for Adorama since I have not only pre-ordered the camera from them, but also pre-paid for it. They have changed the old notice about it not being in stock yet to now saying they have temporarily run out of stock. Hmmm...I was supposed to be notified the day it shipped with a tracking number, but nothing in my in-box. They usually won't let you pre-pay but I talked the guy into it so there would be no waiting for me. I'll have to give them a call on Monday.

wooo! Lasik is awesome! I had my eyeballs lasered last year. I had about 20/600 vision before, and now I'm at 20/10.

Thank you - I just got lights and we moved (out of a dark townhome) so I can hopefully be more creative when the winter rain comes. It was so hard to try to get good light in our old place - but now I don't have to worry about it. Yippee!!

I may not be able to enter this time around, I'll see if I can get out and shoot monday night. School came up and ATE me, and then I forgot when I was at home and my sis was playing with the dog....

My daughter is in college back in Maryland, this week & next is hell week. All we need is 5 enteries. I'll have something, not sure what, but something.....Lol. I'm going to post an idea over you know where...Let me know what you think...

I am so pissed right now! I will never deal with ADORAMA again! When the Canon 50D was announced, within 24 hrs I called them and ordered mine. I even asked if I could pre-pay. The guy said they usually do not do that, but I said I wanted to so that I would be assured a camera the first batch. He was hesitant, but when I said no problem I'll order elsewhere, he was happy to oblige. Well, they got their first shipment in - and guess what....they ran out before getting to my order! The sales guy said I'd get mine in the next order, but he has no idea when that will be and to call and talk with customer service tomorrow. He said he'd refund my money if I did not want to wait, but heck it took them 2 weeks to refund the $34 dollar overcharge when I pre-paid. Not to mention now everyone will be out of them and I'd end up on the bottom of a waiting list. Never again will I buy from these folks as they have been rude since they got the money and denied the overcharge until I told them I was looking at my bank statement and told them how much they took. Then they came up with three different stories as to why that happened. Grrrrrr

I had kind of the same experience, order a lens. Within the hour a sales person called trying to sale me everything under the sun. I had it on a 4 day shipping request, ask to bump it up to over night....Never happened. Keep calling them, ask to speak to a manager, keep pushing......

Well I just canceled my order with Adorama - and spoke to them about having to wait for a refund. They claim they will have my money refunded in 2 days. I sure hope I don't have to go through the hassle Odyssey went through. They had the nerve to tell me they expected another shipment of the camera in sometime over the next week but they could not promise mine would be shipped out and could not tell me where in their list I was. They of course then tried talking me into buying the kit with the 70-200 lens in it - what the heck just $700 more right? I told her no thanks and to just get me my refund. I did get an email confirmation of the cancellation a few minutes later.

Meanwhile, I called the camera shop in Anchorage and they had only two other people on their waiting list, and an order of 8 cameras on back order but that they hope to get in the next week. So I will be getting one of those.

I'll try to get out and shoot something tonight. People might be playing tennis, or I might be able to sneak into airband practice (hee hee hee).
