Merry Christmas to me, I just got a 10D!

My husband bought me a 10D for Christmas!! (Yes, it's a little early, but he figured that I was going to need to use it over the holidays.) We picked it up today, probably one of the last 10D's in Virginia! Already have lenses and CF, battery is charging as we speak, I am so excited and can hardly wait 'til it's charged to start shooting!

Thanks coolhar, I'm looking forward to entering some challenges now that I am home and not working for awhile!

I have a question too, for anyone who knows: what the heck does the "USM" stand for on some of the lenses that I have looked at. I've searched all over and cannot find what that means, and more importantly - what it means to ME! Should I be looking for lens that have that?

i was told here - that it means
ultra sonic motor

or in other words VERY fast

OK, thanks, that was just driving me crazy not knowing!

Thanks justine - I'm lovin' it already and don't even know how to use it - guess while my husband watches the Skins, I'll be reading the manual! LOL! I have taken some shots, but haven't yet looked into how to get them onto the computer. Shootin' first, worryin' about that later!

Good thing hubby did the Christmas shopping before the game, lol. Skins are a sorry bunch this year. They are getting into a rut of not meeting expectations every season.

Too true, lol! I just yelled in there and asked him if they were winning and he answered with a very resolute "NO". I asked him if the game had even started, and he answered, "Unfortunately, YES".

Thanks kiwi! I am just so whipped up about having this thing that I don't even know how I'll be able to sleep tonight. Well - with the 10D on the night table, no doubt!

On the night table? My 10D slept on my pillow next to me the first week :)
