I've been burried on building the new home here. I need to get busy and see what I captured. Thanks all!
Oh, models, any of ya willing to sign a release for the photos or video?

I am sorry to have missed you guys. It looks like you had a great time. I have been lurking around DPC for a while now but haven't really gotten to involved. I think that will change in the near future.
Hope to meet up with you all on the next one.

For those who asked, yup the mountain colors are getting more brilliant every day. I went for a short drive and snapped a few pics, here's one of them with the mountains, Aspen trees and a truck sightseeing. Autumn colors |

We went to the Salt Flats in the afternoon on Saturday. But earlier that day, Skyler and I went up to Cascade Springs with a different photography group. Here are some of the photos from that outing:

Lots more here.

Okay here are my top four from each model. Well lets be honest, how can I pick a "top 2 or 3" hu? :D
I can't begin to tell you how much fun this was. I really can't wait to see the rest of our groups shots. I'm sure they are stunning to say the least!
If you would like to see the entire 111 shots that I picked; you can check them out on my website.

I left comments on several of your images here. Then I took a stroll through your website. I think you left some of your best shots on your web site. You should copy more of them over to DPC. :)
What a fun time! Thanks for taking us there!

I am so impressed with everyone's pictures. It is fun to all have similar shots taken from different angles. It is a great way for me to figure out which angles work best. Steve thanks again for driving me up there. It was so great to meet everyone! I can't wait to see more pictures! Oh, I am not completely positive on this, but I am thinking about trying to go up and do the ballroom pictures on Saturday October 18th. |

I won't make the 18th, but if you happen to pick another night let us know and I'll check my calendar again.

Unfortunately, I have all of my Saturday's booked with Family Portraits this time of year. It seems everyone wants fall colors. I was glad the DPC GTG landed on the day it did because it was my last free weekend for awhile.
So don't hold up for me (at least, not in October). My only free nights are weeknights for awhile.

OOO, and I just remembered I had two scans I already did for class.
I had to do simple black and white conversions of the slides for class. There will be more color stuff coming later.
And I just figured out the whole thumbnail thing. It's really easy, haha. |

I like 'em ... but I'm not sure how to post comments on your website. Any chance of uploading them here or maybe to Flikr if you're not a member here so that we can post comments?

Just wanted to say that you guys did an AWESOME job with your shots! I've been quietly lurking here watching the stuff being posted - I'm incredibly envious of the Salt Flats as a studio - what amazing light and clarity! And Don, didn't know you moved to Utah - congrats on getting out of the heat of San Antonio!
I'll hopefully get a chance to go through and leave a few comments here and there - just wanted to let you guys know the work you've been showing from this GtG is excellent. |

Fellow Utah photographers take note!
I've been asked before about where to go to shoot portraits. It's a question I think we'd all love to know the answers to. Some photographers keep such information closely guarded ... like it's a secret. If they know and you don't, then they can get the shot and you can't.
However, as you can tell just by looking at the images in this thread, a dozen different photographers will take a dozen different photos of the same scene. For that reason, I believe that we ALL get better by "sharing" our knowledge rather than keeping it a secret.
To that end, a couple of us have been maintaining a google maps based portrait locations map which gives you several locations in Utah for shooting portraits and, in many cases, links to sample images so that you can see what it might look like to shoot there.
Check it out. Utah Portrait Locations Map
