It would seem that their rating is somewhat lower than B&H and some of the other typical resale houses...but is it worth the extra 50 bucks...you have to make the call |

US1photo is the only major online reseller that has it IN STOCK - a fact that makes me both excited and suspicious.

yay Neil...it will be in your hands soon. I'm going to a local store that has a D90 in stock.. This weekend I was taking my D50 there to have the sensor cleaned....anyone wanna bet whether I leave there with the D90????
I'm actually on the fence...not as to whether I want it, but whether I want to spend the money. Going on vaca 10/10 to St Augustine,FL...would be fun to have a new camera to go with me! |

Congrats on the new purchase. I am looking too, but have to get another job before I can get one. Looking to change entirely. I know it is stupid to go with another brand when you start with one, but Nikon is looking better and better. I should have done that in the first place. I do like that micro lens that may still be available. Can't believe the photo closeups with it. Anyway, if I do get a better job, I will definitely be going for a Nikon. I think I have lost faith in Sony. That noise issue. Of course when I print the photos, even at full size, I see no noise. It only seems to be when viewed on the computer. We'll see. |

Congratulations Melissa!
Mine did ship, and is supposed to arrive tomorrow. However, it looks to me like its "lost" at the VA DHL facility.
It shipped 9/25 from FL, arrived 9/27 to the DHL facility in VA, and there it sits apparently. Despite the estimated delivery date of 9/30.
Hopefully, it's actually moving and they just aren't updating the status. But that seems a bit odd since these places depend on tracking for both their business and their reputation.

Did it??????
I'am guessing since we haven't heard from Neil since 9/30 (on this thread at least) that it did.

That's the problem with Dell. Might get a good price, but you'll wait forever for it to show up. |

Oh yeah! It arrived on the 30th, as promised. DHL's website didn't catch up until the morning, so they actually missed the last leg "in transit".
The camera is magnificent.
I took almost 500 pictures on my first "assignment" with it. A stage production, shot theater light, up to ISO 5600. Very good noise control through ISO 2500 or so. 3200 isn't bad either. 5600 is also perfectly usable as well. Above 2500, I did have to tweak around with the LR noise control. I'm guessing the high ISO versions are also good for up to 8x10 at least, since they look good on my 30" monitor full size.

Very nice Melissa--congrat's again (to both of us!)
Here's something for others considering the camera:
Here's a shot converted from RAW in Lightroom 2.1 at ISO 5600; Luminance noise reduction turned off, Color noise set to 1/4 power (25%).
You can see it DPC sized, but I uploaded it at 100% so, you can click on "Show Full Sized Image" and see the level of noise with only a light touch of noise reduction. (I turned off luminance noise to show this, normally, I'd have set both noise controls higher for this.) I haven't printed anything from it yet, but I suspect this should produce a nice 8x10 at least. And I'm sure Neatimage or NoiseNinja would do a pretty good job cleaning up the luminance noise (better than LR can do).
What do you guys think of the noise? |

I really like the D90 specs...I only wish that they would have added a 60+ fps video so you could get some real slow motion. I know I'm being really picky though !

This is my day too. Just substituted my fuji with the d90.
First things I noticed:
- There is no ISO below 200!
- Cant convert from RAW using Lightroom 2.0 (any solutions on this?)
Anyway happy here.
