Canon 5D Mark II Video

The shot was taken with 5D Mark II mated to a Canon EF 400mm f/2.8 IS L Lens plus a 2x Teleconverter, effectively providing for an 800mm focal length with f/5.6 aperture @ISO 3200.

That quality is more than amazing. Watched it on my 30" Widescreen in Full Size. Anyone want to lend me $ 15,000?

As long as you are an unemployed minority with really bad credit, then sure - what have I got to lose?

The video was cool - I wonder how big the file size ends up being.

The original uploaded video file was 183MB.
Vimeo makes the original uploads available in the lower right corner.

They keep the originals on their server for a month I think, and is one of the reasons I use it - clients can download straight from there, and the quality blows away YouTube.

I did get a kick out of the guy wondering about the sound - at 800mm - don't think the L glass is capable of getting the sound through the lens just yet...

Aah, too bad, I'm white, I have a well paid job and the inquiry agencies do not even know me. No chance, I suppose?

Ok, I've not watched all the videos out there that the 5DmkII has taken, but none of the ones I've seen have had sound. All have used some kind of background music. So does it record sound or not? If not, what's the point of having 1080p video recording capability without sound? I heard alot of people saying it'd be a dream wedding camera since it could do both stills and video which I agreed with, but if it doesn't record sound, I'll take that back.

DPReview states "Full audio support: built-in mic and speaker, mic-in socket, audio-out over AV (although not HDMI."

i doubt you would be able to hear anything that the camera could record that far away from the subject anyway. hell if i were to get this it would be pointless to have sound for me. id just make music videos :)
