My husband and myself went to Taronga Zoo yesterday and saw the new little baby gorilla called Mahale. He was born on the 18th of August. His mum Mouila was very protective.

I know my photos are great but I just wanted to share.

Thanks :) I took my 400d yesterday and they were in shadow the whole time.. so those are at ISO 1600 and I am not happy with the quality but it was just too cute not to show :)

I don't like any of them because they show an animal in a cage, the most un-natural position an animal can be in. Sure it's nice to see an animal cuddling her newborn but that newborn will be a prisoner like its mother. What a beautiful life, isn't it? Sorry, the animal lover in me cannot accept seeing animals in cages for our viewing pleasure.

For what its worth, mahala is the Nguni word for 'free', free as in gratis, or 'for nothing'.
