The first time I used a compact flash, I downloaded pictures to my computer. Then I deleted the pictures from the compact flash using my computer. I did not know at the time that you can not do that. Does anyone know of a way I can "repair" the card so that I can use it again in my camera? |

If you copied the images to your computer and then deleted them off the CF card, you've done nothing wrong. Stick card back in camera and you are good to go. |

When I do that I get the message that there is not a card in the camera. |

Did you just delete the images, or did you delete directories, or format the whole card?
Just deleting files should not cause a problem. I delete files off the cards for my 40D, using the computer, all the time with no problem. Did you possibly remove the card with the deletion in progress? |

If there is nothing on the card you need to keep, try going through the menu on your camera and format the card. |

Yup... that's what I'd suggest.

I just deleted the pictures. I did not pull the card out to early.
The camera will not acknowledge that there is a card in the camera for me to do anything with it.
I appreciate the quick responses and the help.
I just found this forum, but I like it already. |

Put the card back in the computer, and see if the computer sees the card properly.
If not, it is a card issue. If it does, then it could be a camera issue. If it is a camera issue, you might want to try, turning the camera off, removing the battery for 30 seconds or so, and then re-inserting the battery, and re-inserting the card. |
