Anyone in need of memory, Amazon.com has a deal right now where you can buy the 8GB transcend card for $26.19 and if you use Bill me Later you can save another $5. So you could get 8GB of memory for less then $22.00. Seems like a good deal to me. I'm finding the 5D raw files are pretty memory consuming and was searching when I found this.
Scalvert I believe turned me on to these cards and have had good success with them for reliability.

| I have this card and it has worked perfectly (and it is lightning fast) for the past 1.5 years |

That's a really good card and that price is very good. I have one but it's a backup to the Sandisk Extreme III. This last weekend I filled up a card and when I replaced it I was surprised I had the Transcend in there - I thought it was the Sandisk. My raws are big also and no problems at all with that card.

There's another good deal on Sandisk Extreme III cards, too (CF and SD), if you prefer those.
I use Sandisk Ultra II, Sandisk Extreme III, Lexar Pro 80x, and Transcend 120X cards. The Lexar card had to be sent back to the manufacturer twice for repair, and both Sandisk Cards produce a corrupt file about every third session. No problems ever with Transcend, which I also use at work.

Quick update, I ordered and received my card already. What a difference 8gb of space offers when you shoot raw on the 5D. I'm happy with the purchase and it looks like the sale is still on.

With these large cards I worry that I'll have a full card and then if it fails I've lost a ton of pictures. But they do seem quite reliable so maybe I'm concerned over nothing.

Thats what insurance is for..........although that doesnt help with the lost photos, it does help if you get sued. Also helps with recovery of the images if possible. What it does help is not missing the shot you should have gotten because you were too busy changing cards.........
