We just picked up Pro Show Gold to start offering slideshows to our customers. I was wondering if there is any chance our clients could ever isolate and download copies of the images from the disc and try printing out their own copies? And is there any way of copy protecting the dvds so that they cant make their own duplicate copies?

As far as I can tell, the images are with the slideshow by default. However there might be a way of making it strictly video without including the images themselves. I leave the images on the DVD for my slideshows simply because they are my images and I am the only one using it.

Lemme see if there is a way to not include the image files.

There is a way that you can include the images on the disc, simply by ticking the 'include images on disc' box on the Create Disc window. If you don't want to include them....don't tick the box. But I suppose there is always the 'print screen' ability when you put the show through a pc!

Having a quick look (REALLY quick look) if you are making a DVD, removing the option for "PC Executable" may remove the images.

I defer to Judi on this since um...she's like right and stuff. :)

There's about no way to copy protect DVDs. The studios have been trying for years.

This doesn't address the specific situation with PSG, but one other possible way to "protect" your images is, if you have the full Creative Suite or the full version of Adobe Acrobat (not just Acrobat Reader), to save your images in PDF format (you can do this with Photoshop), use Acrobat to assemble the pictures into one document, then save it with security options enabled.

You can disabled both copying/extracting the photos and printing the document, unless the person has the password; if you save a separate copy, you can make the password some random sequence that no one (including yourself) will guess/remember, at least without going through more trouble than it's worth (at least for my photos).

It won't play like a slideshow, but it's easy to scroll/click through the image sequence. You should be able to include a link to a sound file if necessary, but I can't remember if the sound will play when you go to another page.
