thats what I was afraid of. I think I can get it fixed locally for a little bit less than that. At least I could save in shipping and maybe have it back quicker. Blah! |

Yup, mine does it too....... and it's been into Canon for cleaning and I mentioned that too. They didn't resolve it, said there was a communication error, but it still does it on occasion. 2 weeks later my shutter mech blew apart and they replaced it as n/c (covered by repair warranty and I'm positive it's not related to anything they did or worked on before... I just got lucky in the timing of it) still having the shutter delay once every great while and sometimes it doesn't fire at all. At the end of my season I'll be sending it in again. Unfortunately I can't do it until later. REALLY nice to know I'm not the only one experiencing this. Give me the "so I'm not crazy after all" feeling!

Yeah! I've been getting the same problem with mine lately! I was thinking it may of been connections to the lens but by the sounds of it, perhaps not! I'm thinking of having mine looked at soon! |

We just got this thing put back together, stuck a battery in, stuck a cf card in, stuck a lens on, and fired a test shot. Tested out a bunch of the functions and am proud to say that it is back to functioning properly. Thanks all for the random encouragement, and the statements saying that I'm crazy, they helped. I was quite shocked honestly to find that it powered on and we hadn't fried anything, but just wanted to post that update.
Thanks,
Ryan

You're ready for "Junkyard Wars" now for sure. Good job, and a happy outcome is always welcome news.

Gotta tell ya - just LOOKING at these pictures actually made my stomach clench up. If it was MY camera I was looking at in a state like that, I'd probably throw up! Haha! Great work, you must have nerves of steel. |

lol, that was the best show ever. oh and thanks everyone for the post repair encouragement. I was pretty excited/shocked about it last night when it actually turned on. Well now I have two working 30d's, I'm considering just keeping this one as a backup, not sure yet.
