For the past month I was debating between the canon 70-200 2.8 is or studio strobes ....
just ordered all this stuff ... hope I didn't forget anything
I have zero studio experience so hope I'll like it ...
1 AlienBees Ringflash
1 B1600 Black Studio Flash
2 B800 White Studio Flash1
22-inch Pan Reflector with optional diffusion sock
The Vagabond II Portable Power System
1 Foldable Giant Softbox (30in.x 60in. )

Wow, sweet! I'm sure you'll love it!
I think you made the right choice - lights make a huge difference. Once you've played with it, I'd love to hear how it goes. I'd be interested in a similar setup myself.
Ie:
- Is the B1600 too much?
- How does the portable power work for you?
- Do you like the giant or large softbox better?
